The guest was very satisfied, thank you very much!

Opinion:

Henrietta Diószegi Hairdresser, Debrecen

I bleached the hair using a woven highlight technique, then I mixed ETB Hair ColorVerse 8.9 dye with 3% ETB Hair Premium Developer peroxide and applied it to the roots. For the mid-lengths and ends, I used ETB Hair ColorVerse 11.9 dye, also mixed with 3% ETB Hair Premium Developer peroxide. I "blended" the transition between the two dye mixtures.

I don't dye my hair often, so I didn't have much to compare it to! But I got a beautiful color! Excellent texture! Easy to mix and apply!

Opinion:

Noémi Dobai Hairdresser, Pécs

Very good creamy texture and scent, perfect gray hair coverage, nourishing ingredients.

Opinion:

Beatrix Dohonyi Hairdresser, Budapest

Easy to apply, spreads nicely, nourishes the hair, and gives a beautiful shine due to its hydrating properties.

I thought I'd tell you that yesterday I colored a client's hair with 9/00, and her sister became my new client because she said she had never seen such a natural, beautiful shade on her sister, and she came to me today – for a blow-dry only for now – and I must add: the client I colored had about 60% gray hair, and it covered it beautifully and naturally, without that artificial look. Before this, I used Ixxxxxxy 8/00 for her, but this color was such a success. Here, where I live now, I started building a client base half a year ago, so it's important to stand out from the others, and since it's a village, the price of the dye is not an insignificant factor, but in Pest, where I have a fixed clientele, it also holds its own, the colors I've tried so far :) I think I'll be a long-term customer of yours :)

Opinion:

Zsanett Élő Hairdresser, Székesfehérvár

Base ETB Hair ColorVerse 7.0
Highlights ETB Hair ColorVerse 8.0
The client had a very light base, but also grey hair and regrowth. I used ETB Hair ColorVerse 7.0 on the roots, and to prevent it from being too light blonde, I added highlights with ETB Hair ColorVerse 8.0. It was very creamy and mixed lump-free. The base colors also covered the grey hair beautifully!

Opinion:

Eszter Szalai Farkas Hairdresser, Rábapordány

It has beautiful colors, is economical, and covers gray hair well.

Opinion:

Lívia Fehérvári Hairdresser, Dunakeszi

Opinion:

Erika Haris Hairdresser, Szolnok -2.

Root coloring for my client who is approximately 70% gray, using ETB Hair ColorVerse 8/00 and 6% ETB Hair Premium Developer.

It colors perfectly with a 30-minute processing time. It covers gray hair well! I got what I expected.

Opinion:

Judit Herczegh Hairdresser, Nagyatád

I did not receive the hair dye I ordered, and I received no response when I reported this. So, lacking a test subject, I tested it on a doll's head. The scent is pleasant, and it mixes easily. My hair felt soft and nourished even after bleaching. I used the booster mixed with another dye, but unfortunately, I didn't notice it contributing anything to the color result.

Opinion:

Enikő Hinkli Hairdresser, Magyaratád

Perfect coverage, beautiful shade as a result

Opinion:

Zsuzsanna Holló Hairdresser, Nyékládháza

Mixing ratio: 11.1 50ml ETB ColorVerse hair dye + 12% ETB Hair Premium Developer 75ml. My client arrived with a 1 cm regrowth. I dyed her original shade 6 hair without pre-lightening, using the dye ratio specified above. After a 40-minute processing time and 5 minutes of emulsification, the dye was rinsed off.

I am satisfied with the dye! My client's hair contains a lot of yellow pigment, but the ETB ColorVerse 11.1 hair dye beautifully toned it down to an ash blonde. The dye is not smelly and did not sting the client's scalp. It is easy to mix and has a good consistency! Thank you for letting me try it out!

Opinion:

Veronika László Hairdresser, Tatárszentgyörgy -1.

I used ETB Hair ColorVerse 11.1 hair dye in a test package with 6% ETB Hair Premium Developer, but for a more reliable result, I also ordered the ETB Bright Blonde 9 - grey - bleaching powder, which gave me the desired level 8 base. Incidentally, the bleaching resulted in a soft-to-the-touch base, which was already a pleasant surprise for me and my client. The desired color speaks for itself compared to the starting point

Opinion:

Veronika László Hairdresser, Tatárszentgyörgy -2.

Beautiful, even coverage, we were both satisfied. By the way, its pleasant scent and creamy texture make painting easier.

Opinion:

Mrs. József Márkus Hairdresser, Buzsák -1

My client arrived with faded, dull hair and grown-out roots! She asked for a uniform, but natural light brown color! I colored the roots with a 2:1 mixture of ETB Hair ColorVerse 6.0 and 7.11 dye with 6% ETB Hair Premium Developer, and refreshed the ends with the same color but mixed with 3% ETB Hair Premium Developer during the last 20 minutes of processing time! Both my client and I were very satisfied with the result!
The grey hairs also disappeared! Her hair looks beautiful! The pigmentation of the product is excellent! It has a good, creamy consistency, doesn't run, and is easy to apply to the hair! It covers grey hairs well!

Opinion:

Mrs. József Márkus Hairdresser, Buzsák -2

My guest arrived with overgrown highlights, so I did a root touch-up without coloring the ends! I used ETB Hair ColorVerse 6.0 dye with 6% ETB Hair Premium Developer. At the end, I thoroughly emulsified it throughout the hair, so the highlight strands also got a slight tint, beautifully harmonizing them with the base colors. I am very satisfied with the dye!

The color is very beautiful and perfectly covers gray hair.

Opinion:

Krisztina Megyesi Hairdresser, Budapest

Opinion:

Cintia Némethné Tarnai Hairdresser, Nagykanizsa

It's very easy to work with. It mixes well and has a creamy consistency. It smells good. I've only used the trial pack, but I will definitely order more to try out the colors.

Opinion:

Anett Opauvszki Hairdresser, Medgyesegyháza

I wanted to try it on my Guest's hair, which is 60-70% grey, and moreover, their scalp has been prone to eczema lately. It covered their grey hair 100%, the shade perfectly met expectations, and a few days after coloring, according to their feedback, it did not cause any skin problems. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a "before" photo, just the usual, I'm sorry about that, but I have the finished hair color. I would like to continue using the product. I will order more this month! (I'm on vacation now! :) ) Thank you for the trial package!!!

Opinion:

Judit Orosz Hairdresser, Szolnok

Opinion:

Rita Polcsics Hairdresser, Budapest

Base color level 7 with some gray hairs. The chosen color is ETB Hair ColorVerse 10.12 + 12% ETB Hair Premium Developer.

Unfortunately, it didn't give me the desired result. I got a yellower shade than I wanted - and should have - based on the color code. Thank you for the opportunity to try it out.

Opinion:

Dóra Rada Hairstylist, Budapest

I applied ETB 10.0 platinum blonde shade with 6% developer to my client's almost completely grey roots. The result speaks for itself, 100% coverage! Why did you enjoy working with ETB Hair products? The product has an excellent consistency, is odorless, and does not irritate the scalp, which was often an issue with this client before. It didn't dry out either the hair or the skin. And the coverage is perfect!

Opinion:

Mrs. Ferenc Rákos

Perfect covering power even on the first coat, 5 out of 5 on the scale

Opinion:

Judit Resál Hairdresser, Pécs

It's good to work with, it has a nice creamy texture. It's minimally scented, which is good news for allergy sufferers, it doesn't strongly stain the skin, and excess is easily washed off. Vibrant colors!

Opinion:

Mónika Sárközi Hairdresser, Budapest

The hair dye had an easily spreadable consistency, allowing me to apply it simply and evenly to my hair. During application, it remained pleasant to the touch and didn't drip. After dyeing, my hair felt silky, well-nourished, and visibly conditioned.

Opinion:

Zsuzsanna Szántó Hairdresser, Piliscsaba

My client's hair was colored with ETB Hair ColorVerse 10.0 and 10.13 dyes and 9% ETB Hair Premium Developer Oxidizer, because her roots were quite dark. Toning:
ETB Hair ColorVerse 11.26 and a very tiny amount of 11.0 with 3% ETB Hair Premium Developer Oxidizer.
It turned into a beautiful, shiny rose gold color!
My client loves it, and so do I love this 11.26 shade.

The scent is not strong. It has a creamy texture and is easy to apply.

Opinion:

Gabriella Szilágyi Hairdresser, Mándok

I liked it, and the scent isn't bad either. The consistency is good, and I like the packaging. However, it's a
bit too pigmented for me: even after 5 minutes, the violet shade really took to my hair. I can't comment on its longevity yet. Thank you for
letting me test it!🥰

A Tökéletes Őszhajfedés Technikája

The Perfect Gray Covering Technique

Throughout our lives, our hair often speaks volumes about our experiences, emotions, and transitions. One of the most significant changes many people face is the appearance of gray hair. While some see their gray locks as a symbol of pride, others would rather cover them up to regain their youthful vibrancy.

Covering gray hair can be a wonderful process of self-expression and transformation, as a result of which our guests can express their individuality even more advantageously, or with a well-chosen shade we can make their appearance look a few years younger. Let's teach our guests to accept the change in age, on the one hand, but not to passively accept it, because thanks to modern hair dyes, hairdressers have the solution so that they can continue to proudly wear their crown of hair, their self-confidence and radiance can shine in their old light.

In this material, we have prepared a brief overview of the complex and challenging aspects of covering gray hair, which require a lot of professional knowledge for a hairdresser - without claiming to be complete -, encouraging our hairdressers to consult us in case of any uncertainty or in order to learn new professional hairdressing tricks. Register for our courses, our workshop calendar contains the closest training locations and current dates!

Covering Gray Hair: The Basics

What is gray hair?

Gray hair occurs when hair follicles stop producing melanin, the pigment responsible for hair color. This process can begin in our 30s or even earlier, depending on genetic predisposition, stress, and lifestyle factors. For those looking to cover gray hair, understanding the percentage of gray hair can be important to help determine the right color choice.

The appearance of gray hair is a natural process that affects many people and can be a great challenge for hairdressers. Covering gray hair requires not only technical knowledge, but also aesthetic sense and customer relations skills.

Below, we will detail the perfect techniques for covering gray hair, including choosing the right materials, the steps of the coloring process, and how to avoid the most common mistakes.

I. Characteristics of Gray Hair

Understanding Gray Hair Color and Texture

Gray hair is pigment-deficient due to decreased melanin production, and this pigment deficiency gradually occurs with age.

Understanding the color and texture of gray hair is key to successful coverage. Gray hair is pigment-depleted to varying degrees, and the degree of graying is expressed in %:

  • 0-20%: No special attention to graying is necessary.
  • 20-50%: Mix 2/3 fashion color with 1/3 natural (or gold) paint: .0 for desired cool shade, .3 for warm tone
  • 50-75%: A mixture of half natural (or gold) and half fashion color is required.

·        75-95%: Mix 2/3 natural or gold shade, 1/3 fashion color and 1 g booster/corrector/mixton. (As a guide: squeeze out about 1 cm of material from the tube)

·        95-100%: Mix 2/3 natural or gold, 1/3 fashion color and 3 g booster/corrector/mixton. (as a guide: squeeze out about 3 cm of material from the tube)

Dye adhesion can be difficult due to gray hair, which is usually thinner, more brittle and fragile. The condition and texture of the hair should be taken into account, as gray hair is often coarser, which affects dye adhesion and the shine of the final result.

II. Selecting the Right Materials

Paint Selection

  • Permanent vs. Semi-permanent: Permanent dyes penetrate deeper into the hair shaft and are ideal for full coverage of hair over 30% gray. Semi-permanent dyes are gentler, but can only be used up to 30% gray.
  • Colors: When dyeing gray hair, it is recommended to use your own base hair color or lighter shades, as these give a softer effect and frame the face more youthfully.

Color Depth: Help your client find the shade that most closely matches their natural hair color. This creates a smoother transition and reduces contrast between the hair color and the hair color. and colored/dyed hair.

Color Depth: Undertones: Help highlight your guest's skin tone undertones: For warm-toned skin, golden or honey shades are preferable, while for cool-toned skin, ashy or platinum colors are preferable.

Accessories

  • Hair care products: Shampoos and conditioners used before and after dyeing are key to hydrating your hair. We also recommend no-yellow toning hair care products for use at home on dyed hair or in the case of ashy tones.
  • Professional tools: make sure you have a paint scale to mix the proportions precisely!

III. The Painting Process

Preparation

  1. Hair diagnosis:  The first step is to thoroughly check the initial condition of the hair. It is necessary to determine whether prior treatments are needed, such as moisturizing or nourishing wraps, but perhaps most importantly: is pre-pigmentation necessary?

Pre-pigmentation

Pre-pigmentation is necessary for patchy graying hair, while it is not necessary for diffuse graying. We work with a dye one shade lighter than the desired color depth, without a developer.

Color chart: The color chart should be placed in front of the guest so that they can see the possible end result and consider how well the desired color depth and shade harmonize with their skin. and the color of his eyes, his personality type.

Painting Steps:

1.      Dye preparation: It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions when mixing the dye. Most manufacturers recommend mixing the dye with the developer in a 1:1 ratio for gray hair coverage.

Tip 1: If your gray hair is thick and very "glassy", use .00 intense natural shade instead of .0!

Tip 2:

.0 = 100% gray coverage dye, suitable for both warm and cool tones

.3 = 100% gray hair coverage dye, can only be used for warm shades!

Tip 3:

We also apply the 5-step “rule of thumb” for hair coloring here:

I/ Determining the depth of the base hair color

II/ Determination of graying percentage

III/ the desired  color depth target definition

IV/ the desired  defining a hue target

V/ choosing the perfect concentration (%) of developer

Tip 4: Dyeing gray hair blonde is even more complex than outlined in this tutorial, so be sure to  We recommend participating in our courses!

2.      Priming: We start applying the paint at the root, as this area absorbs the pigment faster. It is important that the dye does not get on the scalp during the priming process.

3.      Creating transitions : Gradually work the dye in, working from the roots down, making sure that the transitions are smooth and natural. Work precisely, don't skimp on the material, and always use the right amount to thoroughly saturate each strand of hair.

4.      Timing : Timing is key; follow the manufacturer's instructions, but also pay attention to the condition of the client's hair, as different hair types may react differently to dyes.

Rinsing and Aftercare

  1. Rinsing : After removing the paint, use lukewarm water.
  2. Care: It is recommended to use a deep moisturizing pack.

IV. Avoiding the Most Common Mistakes

  • Choosing colors that are too dark: In the case of gray hair, shades that are too dark create an unnatural effect, can highlight facial wrinkles more, unfavorably, and can make the face look even older.
  • Uneven application: A sufficient amount of dye and its even distribution are essential to prevent hair from becoming stained and gray hairs from showing through in the finished hairstyle.
  • Ignoring the condition of the hair: Always conduct a thorough condition assessment and apply necessary treatments. In today's allergenic era, we cannot emphasize enough the need for a skin test!

V. Conclusion

Perfect gray hair coverage requires not only technical knowledge, but also the art of treating the hair. Choosing the right materials, applying precise coloring techniques and monitoring the condition of the hair are essential for success. The secret to success as a hairdresser lies in applying these factors together.
